Matthias Hehrmann got his first piano lessons at the age of six, one year later
also in cello. Later he studied at the Hannover Music and Theater Academy under
Prof. F.J. Sellheim and Prof. K. Heitz. In 1998 he spent a year abroad at the
University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada, to study cello under Prof. R. Bardston
as well as composition. Subsequent to his graduation in Hanover, in summer 2000
he commenced supplementary studies (concert exam) under Professor Y-Ch. Cho at
the Folkwang Academy in Essen. Matthias Hehrmann received several competition
awards. He gathered experiences in orchestra as a substitute at the NDR Radio
Philharmonic Orchestra (Northern German Broadcasting Station) in Hanover. His
special interest is chamber music. His first piano trio was sponsored by the "Landesmusikrat"
of Baden-Württemberg. He gives concerts in very different casts varying from
duo with piano or accordion to cello octet. |
